Bunge Latin America, LLC in Coral Gables, Florida seeks a full-time Freight Trader to support BLA's freight and commodities traders to maintain the profitability and effectiveness of vessels and cargo contracts with a focus on time charter equivalency earnings and long term contracts. Specific duties include: maintain SOFTMAR data input; produce internal reporting documents regarding the financial and other aspects of freight trading; work in close cooperation with the freight operations group to achieve best possible planning, stowage, and turnaround of vessels; engage with the freight operations group to execute voyages and cooperates closely with ships masters, technical managers, customers, agents, brokers, and various other entities; provide assistance on planning, routing, bunkering, lay time calculations, and other operating functions, as well as interacting with other BLA and cross-company departments; provide assistance in hedging the overall freight & bunkers position according to company strategy, available tools, and position limits; assist in the development of market analysis and trading strategies to advance growth opportunities in the region; look for arbitrage opportunities derived from market imperfections on vessel types, geographies, etc.; identify new business opportunities and work to expand the freight portfolio via multiple commodities and third party activity; build close relationships with key potential new customers across the Americas that complement the existing network of buyers; expand third party business aligned with company objectives, via full cargos as well as parceling opportunities all over the Americas; ensures close coordination and communication with the Freight Product Line as to maximize employment of the company's vessels and trading opportunities; and develop new relationships and ensures that current relationships with brokers, owners, customers, agents and other service providers are maintained and leveraged to improve the understanding of market balances and others participant's activity. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as a Trader, Associate Trader Dry Bulk Freight or similar role in the Agribusiness industry to include 2 years of experience with vessel operations, dry bulk future pricing, logistics and Softmar operational and chartering data input.
