Chronicle Media is looking for a talented Digital Initiatives Strategist to join our team. As a Digital Initiatives Strategist, you will be responsible for working alongside all advertising personnel to grow digital sales and serve as a source of reference for all members of the advertising staff while leading the drive to execute new digital initiatives and promotions.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Sales Performance, Preparation and Planning
- Build proposals for businesses from the smallest campaign to the most complex and be able to present to small or large groups of decision-makers with confidence
- Direct involvement creating advertising and promotional schedules that facilitate sponsorship and event related revenue streams
- Direct revenue opportunities by developing synergistic processes between advertising and commercial content.
- Grow digital revenue opportunities through the successful execution of commercial content special projects (i.e. Sweepstakes, special sections, Owned & Operated events
- Active involvement in motivating and training entire staff on digital initiatives
- Must be able to work well under pressure and thrive on the hunt for the sale
- Overcome objections professionally and creatively
- Maintain necessary reports for advertiser's campaigns
- Identify key selling opportunities
- Must be motivated, have a proven track record and be able to make sales calls and presentations to all account levels.
Must be goal driven with the desire to help others exceed minimum expectations. This sales position works in a field that is in a constant state of change. Successful applicants will be very flexible, multi-task oriented, highly organized, and able to work with a number of products to sell both internally to traditional representatives and externally to customers. Daily ride-alongs with advertising sales reps to aid in digital promotional advertising client discussions and close incremental business.
Objectives Performance
- Meet monthly sales activity and training expectations.
- Meet or exceed all set KPIs and SOPs.
- Must be an expert in digital promotions with a basic knowledge of print.
- Training and coaching the advertising staff on new and existing products and services including a weekly online training, onboarding and one-on-one consultations.
- Position is responsible for attaining monthly revenue goals by working very closely with all levels of the advertising team, current advertisers and potential advertisers.
Customer Service
- Provide a superior level of customer service and professionalism at all times and with all contacts.
- Superior customer service skills. Review monthly customer reports and relay any inconsistencies and areas of growth potential.
- Able to pull together a comprehensive digital media promotions campaign that will prove a strong ROI for the advertiser.
Professionalism
- Self-motivated and excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas clearly over the phone and in person and writing/email.
Control
- Use CRM tools/outlook for scheduling and tracking of all activities.
- Comply with all credit policies. Knowledge of local market trends and competitors.
- Must be comfortable presenting in large group settings.
- Serve as a liaison between partners such as Second Street and the advertising staff in order to reconcile any client issues and lead the charge in all campaign fulfillment and retention efforts with such accounts.
Qualifications/Skills
Strong desire to prospect and close the sale. Goal driven. Must be able to work well under pressure of deadline daily and monthly. Expert in Digital Media Advertising advertising - ability to keep up with rapidly changing technology. Customer service focused.
Education:
- College degree and advertising sales experience preferred; CIS or equivalent working experience is a plus. B2B sales experience required.
Experience or Training:
- Strong understanding of digital media creative development, direct response marketing online, and the ability to analyze and report data.
- Publishing experience is a plus. Should be familiar with professional training techniques.
- Experience using MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Digital Media advertising knowledge. Proven superior customer service and account management track record.
- Effective negotiation skills both in person and over the phone.
- Valid driver's license and insurance records are required quarterly.
