Job Responsibilities
Position Overview & Description
This is a key position situated within the Service Modernization team in Seattle IT. This role would be a strong fit for an entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about simplifying work using technology tools to drive workplace efficiencies with a sharp focus on creating an improved user experience. The individual will champion automation conversation across various Seattle IT teams and with client departments. Starting with small adhoc use cases, the goal is to move to a formal Automation as a Service (AaaS) practice offered to both IT and client departments.
Key Deliverables
- Research, identify, implement automation platforms.
- Identify, define and formulate the various artifacts including guidelines, frameworks, business case templates to support a consistent approach for the use of automation technologies across the City of Seattle.
- Build a solid understanding of current automation maturity within the organization including any active initiatives to leverage existing efforts.
- Build awareness within IT and with client departments on the adoption of automation solutions.
- Proactively highlight and implement multiple use-cases in conjunction with a variety of stakeholders.
- Conceptualize and deliver automation solutions by facilitating future state processes/systems design and modelling for internal IT and client department use cases.
Qualifications
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for the required qualifications.
- Experience with automation implementations and providing planning & strategic recommendations.
- Experience developing and applying automation principals and best practices.
- Able to engage with all levels of an organization, including senior level and frontline staff.
- Ability to move easily between leading, supporting, designing, developing, implementing roles.
- Communicate effectively, identify engagement opportunities to all levels of the organization.
- A high degree of understanding of automation platforms offered by leading third party cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
- Practical change management experience.
- Seasoned facilitator of discussions amongst a diverse stakeholder.

Additional Information
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration, computer science, Information Technology Management, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Experience in creating solutions using automation tools such as Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere or similar.
- A track record of process analysis, re-engineering and optimization.
- Experience in the application of smart bots to embed with traditional workflows.
- Practical experience of deploying solutions built on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation and similar technologies.
- UI/UX Certification.
- Experienced with integration of automation using agile software development methodologies.
