As a Talent Development Practice lead for the City of Seattle's Seattle Information Technology (IT) Department, you will help build and promote an environment of continuous learning. Your work will ensure that Seattle IT's talented workforce is at the core of our future digital transformations.

Key Expectations:
- Design and execute a wide array of talent development initiatives; deploy/facilitate various training methods, i.e. live training, custom modules and eLearning platforms.
- Collaborate with Seattle IT leadership to create multi-year workforce development plans that meet dynamic business needs.
- Review the external technology learning landscape to bring leading-edge learning practices to Seattle IT; research and develop new curriculum/programs.
- Actively connect the investment of learning and development into measurable impactful metrics; develop evaluation, matrix and monitor progress.
- Influence the broader Seattle IT workplans to maximize learning development opportunities.
- Nurture the culture of learning in all facets of Seattle IT operations.
- Effectively communicate and facilitate dialogue at all levels of the organization; provide necessary consulting to management in strategic workforce planning.
Qualifications
NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education, experience and/or training will be considered for the recruitment qualifications.
- An extensive portfolio of programming expertise focused on learning development.
- Prior experiences leading change through learning and talent development in a complex organizational setting.
- Hands-on experience with new learning approaches and technologies.
- Advanced project management and analytical skills.
- Experience working with eLearning tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia and/or similar tools.
- Experience with program design and implementation, delivering equity training, developing and implementing equity tools, applying an equity lens to programs and outreach strategies.

You will be successful in this position if you have:
- Advanced knowledge of strategic planning principles and practices and engagement strategies; must be able to think strategically and implement locally.
- Demonstrating sound judgment while considering varied perspectives.
- Skill in synthesizing information and making recommendations within and outside of established policies and procedures.
- Experience working in diverse teams.
- Experience in meeting facilitation or group mediation.
- Excellent cross-cultural oral and written communications skills.
- Experience planning and implementing events, trainings, and large-scale projects.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to produce multiple deliverables with overlapping deadlines.
Additional Information
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's in training/development, education, human resources or closely related field.
- Strong creative problem-solving, negotiation, and facilitation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively, and be self-directed.
- Prior experience building programs and initiatives using design thinking principles.
