Production Technician (2nd shift)
As the newest member of our Team, you’ll be responsible for the set-up, testing and maintenance of our production equipment, including laser engravers and related systems, mailing equipment, die sublimation printers etc. Your success will be determined by your ability to achieve and exceed the following objectives:
- Your first month will be busy! You’ll familiarize yourself with our facility, clean room environment, employees, equipment and products. You’ll shadow one of our existing Senior Process Technicians and receive in depth, on the job training.
- Your onboarding/shadowing will last approximately three months and during that time you’ll gain valuable insight on our internal workflow, product lifecycle and equipment intricacies. You’ll be trained on our preventative maintenance software and become familiar with our PM schedule and parts inventory. Leveraging your skills and previous experience, you’ll also assist with equipment/facility troubleshooting and repair.
- Once trained, you’ll be assigned your own shift (2nd) and be the last line of defense before engaging other Technicians, equipment manufacturers or vendors for assistance with equipment breakdowns. As an effective communicator, you will successfully gather detailed information from equipment operators to effectively diagnose issues as well as create clear repair status reports for other Technicians. Your ability to read schematics and blue prints will be critical in quickly troubleshooting problems and maximizing ‘up time’ of our production equipment to ensure we meet our customer SLAs.
- In addition to production equipment, you’ll also support mailing equipment, desktop printers, servers and building systems. For issues that cannot be solved internally, the Production Technician will be expected to know who and when to escalate. We’ll also expect you to provide recommendations on process improvement and stay informed of equipment updates, recalls, etc.
- Preventative maintenance is key to avoiding unnecessary breakdowns. Our Techs are expected to ensure the PM schedule is followed, work is clearly documented, parts inventories are maintained and improvements are suggested.
- We have numerous Production Technicians located in our facilities across North America. You may be required to travel internationally to collaborate with other team members/departments or complete training on our production equipment.
We believe the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience providing support in a high volume manufacturing environment. A diploma in a related field and prior clean room experience will also prove beneficial, as will a knowledge of computer networks, laser/electro-mechanical environments and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
