Investment Operations Associate
Reports to: Team Leader – Investment Operations

The Investment Operations Associate will be based at Fenimore’s headquarters in Cobleskill, NY.
Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing support in all areas of investment operations (see outlined items below). The Investment Operations Associate will also serve as the primary back-up for reconciliation of client relationship and investment account data and provide administrative support. Other duties will be related to ad hoc projects from departments across the firm. Additional ongoing responsibilities related to operational system management and portfolio administration will be awarded as skills are developed.
Qualifications:
- Two-year associate degree or minimum of 2 to 4 years of work experience, preferably with a focus in accounting, business, finance, or economics
- Must be extremely organized and capable of multi-tasking
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle priorities and meet time sensitive deadlines
- Possess excellent attention to detail and take ownership for the accuracy of every deliverable
- Be self-motivated with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate the ability to learn and proficiently use industry specific software
- Be a team player with a strong desire to learn and work collaboratively
Primary Responsibilities:
I. New accounts and other client related paperwork/processing
- Coordinate opening of accounts at various custodians to include new account paperwork, investment advisory agreements, transfer of assets and money movement
- Process and track open requests and follow through to completion (money movement and account maintenance)
- Troubleshoot account issues, working proactively with custodians and clients as necessary
- Work with client relationship managers in support of all operational needs
II. Systems/Operations
- Learn and develop proficiency in software systems used in PCG Operations (Advent, Schwab Institutional and Salesforce)
- Implement the timely and accurate processing of investment operations activities in accordance with guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Develop proficiency and provide on-going support and back-up for daily, monthly and quarterly system accounting and performance functions
- Look for opportunities to enhance, automate and/or streamline all functions
III. Miscellaneous Administrative Duties
- Prepare and mail client reports and materials as needed
- Work on special projects as requested
