Consumer Loan Expert
First New York Federal Credit Union’s Lending department is growing and is currently seeking a Consumer Loan Expert. Individual must demonstrate a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality. Emphasis will be on sales and results to ensure the maximization of lending and sales opportunities. Must exhibit the ability to think independently by effectively responding to each individual lending situation. The Loan Expert will be expected to possess a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing. Responsibilities include consistently achieving loan sales goals and presenting appropriate solutions to fit lending needs while recommending products and services. The Loan Expert must become familiar with underwriting philosophies, lending decisions, approval stipulations, credit bureau reports and scores, extended warranties, GAP insurance, Credit Life and Disability insurance, loan rates and lending policies and procedures. Requirements include 2+ years of consumer lending experience and 1 year of sales experience, a proficiency with MS Excel and Word, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Conventional Mortgage Processor
First New York Federal Credit Union is seeking a Conventional Mortgage Processor to process Commercial and Residential loan requests by gathering and summarizing pertinent documents and information based on credit union and FHLB policy. Will handle commercial and residential files from application to post closing and communicate with members, attorneys, realtors, appraisers and vendors. Processor works closely with loan originator, commercial lender and underwriters to verify, compile and complete application for mortgage loans. This will include confirming data such as type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities and length of employment is correct and complete. Will contact credit bureaus, obtain property abstract, survey, flood and appraisal to ensure documents are supplied promptly. Must ensure exceptional member service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Two plus years of loan processing experience required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, FICS Loan Producer and Mortgage Servicer software, and proficient in credit analysis.
Loan Operations Administrator
First New York Federal Credit Union is seeking a Loan Operations Administrator to be responsible for certain areas of compliance of the lending program. This will include quality control, HMDA (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) reporting, document retention, and collateral recording of consumer loans. Will be responsible for loan servicing, including file maintenance, HMDA data collection, internal quality control procedures for home equity and flex mortgage loans. Ensures all regulatory disclosures are in compliance and provided to borrowers and processes the release of mortgages. Assists during external loan reviews and audits. Three years of related experience in loan operations/quality control environment expected. Should have Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge. Must work in a team environment and show strong communication and problem solving skills. Will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of loan operations, policies and procedures.
Real Estate Mortgage Servicer
First New York is seeking a Real Estate Mortgage Servicer for a growing lending department. Will be responsible for assisting in the Residential and Commercial mortgage servicing areas to include new loan set up, payment processing, escrow disbursements, ARM rate changes and member service. Servicer will be expected to coordinate with third party vendors, verify all escrow transactions and handle annual escrow analysis, respond and follow up on audit and post-closing issues, respond to all servicing related inquiries, set up business loan property tax information, process mortgage payments, pay monthly mortgage insurance invoices, annual homeowners insurance policies and real estate tax bills. Will be expected to remain current in complying with federal and state regulations pertaining to residential mortgage servicing and interact with lending operations and credit union personnel. Three years’ experience in secondary market mortgage servicing, general knowledge of FHLB and loan origination systems and fluent with FICS loan producer and mortgage service software. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software, be well organized, have good communication skills and able to work independently and in a team environment.
