Business Development Manager
Gray Plant Mooty, a prominent national law firm, is currently seeking a Business Development Manager.
This individual will manage all aspects of business development and marketing for select practice groups and teams, including strategic practice planning, leveraging sponsorships and events by advising attorneys on appropriate follow-up techniques to further develop relationships. This position will identify and implement new business development initiatives to grow existing client relationships and foster new business. In addition, the manager will support attorneys and staff in the preparation of new business proposals, RFP responses and research. This includes drafting of collateral and creation of customized pitch books and presentations, when necessary and working with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop effective materials and content. The manager will coordinate, gather and disseminate information for directory and award submissions and deal/case releases and work with attorneys to develop tactics for targeting specific clients or industry groups as well help evaluate marketing and business development related organizations, memberships, registrations and renewals.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. Must have knowledge of core business development principals including RFP response preparation; presentation development, business development training, leadership skills, well developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm; ability to work in a team environment with a client service focus. Ability to handle projects independently, prioritize workload and solve problems quickly.
The ideal candidate will have 5 plus years of business development and marketing experience within a professional services firm, sales experience a plus.
