SUMMARY
The Living Room Kitchen Manager will be under the Supervision of the Program Coordinator. Monday through Friday the kitchen manager will prepare lunch and dinner on site. Other duties include planning for weekend meals, special occasions, and meet nutritional needs of guests. All standards and expectations of sanitation will be followed. The kitchen manager will be responsible for purchasing of food and management of budget line items to include program meals and kitchen supplies. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Knowledge: Graduation from high school or the equivalent preferred.
Experience: Must have knowledge of nutritional needs, food ordering within budget parameters, food preparation, menu planning and awareness of sanitary food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity.
Physical: Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and soft tones as well as close eye work. Valid driver's license. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Staff will be required to work with gas ovens and stove, table top deep fry, industrial dish washer. To ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care) that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range for this position starts at approximately $12.37 per hour depending on relevant experience and education.
