Farmworker positions
Ixtapa Farming in Santa Maria, CA., has 17 temporary farmworker positions available. In an open field, worker will cultivate and harvest strawberries. In narrow field rows, worker will bend at the waist, and pick the berries and place in a carton or plastic container. Must be able to lift 15lbs, walk and stand extensively, and work under exposure to mud, dust, wind, heat and cold. Workers should have one month harvesting experience or harvesting knowledge. Temporary employment from 3/26/18 to 10/27/18, Monday through Saturday 7:00am to 1:30pm. $13.18/hr. Employer guarantees employment for at least ¾ of contract period. Tools, supplies and equipment are provided without cost to the worker. Free housing is provided to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the work day. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be provided or paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract.
