Kendal at Oberlin has an immediate position available for Prep Cook in our restaurant-style dining services kitchen. Job tasks include preparing food ingredients for meals and catering while always maintaining the sanitation of food preparation. Excellent time management skills are required for this position. The successful candidate should have a minimum of two years’ cooking experience in quantity cooking. Professional culinary training is a plus but not required. Able to safely operate all foodservice equipment using proper sanitation and cooking techniques and become ServSafe Certified. Able to read and write English and have good, pleasant communication skills to work well with co-workers and managers. Familiarity with production sheets, recipe books, and professional cookbooks. Able to work courteously with co-workers and supervisors in a team atmosphere. High school diploma or GED is required. Must maintain a high standard of sanitation at all times with a neat, professional appearance. Flexibility with weekly schedule is expected.
