Kitsap County IS/GIS has an opening for an individual to provide technical expertise to customers and/or staff members in the areas of GIS application development, database development, desktop environment and/or systems integration. This position is also responsible for web development using C#, Python, MVC, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, and JavaScript. The successful applicant will have an Associate's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, and at least one year of experience in the area of Programming/GIS. The ideal candidate will have experience with C#, Python, and JavaScript and with building applications for GIS, a knowledge of structured design and programming methodology and current industry standard computer programming languages. Must have skill to troubleshoot software programming, including the ability to analyze and problem solve.
Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate's in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Software Engineering and at least three years of experience in Programming/GIS, or a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience in Programming/GIS.
Preference will be given to applicants with programming experience or college-level training in current Microsoft Net, JavaScript or GIS development.
