Lakehaven Water and Sewer District has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in our
Wastewater Operations Department. Applications will be accepted for any level in the position range

As a Lakehaven Wastewater Operations Maintenance Person, you will be part of a team that has been
recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for its environmental stewardship and
has been a long-standing member of the American Water Works Association. Lakehaven has a service
area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County,
makings us the second largest special-purpose water and sewer district in the state. Our water system
includes 450 miles of water mains, 25 active wells, and 12 storage tanks, which allows us to meet a
current annual average water demand of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) from the community.
Lakehaven also has 2 wastewater treatment plants, 27 sewer lift stations, and 350 miles of sewer mains
capable of collecting and treating up to 15.6 MGD. Our employees work hard to produce and treat high
quality drinking water and to ensure treated wastewater adheres to EPA standards which safeguards the

Employees in the Wastewater Operations Department perform and/or assist with minor and major
maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment and construction of supporting structures used in
the wastewater treatment plants operated by the District. Position placement and pay is dependent
upon experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate should have some of the following:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience in related equipment and/or facility maintenance preferred.
A valid Washington State “Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCS)” certification, desired but not
Any certifications or licenses applicable to the utility; i.e., CPR/First Aid Training, Certified Flagging,
Confined Space Entry, etc. must be obtained within on (1) year of initial employment.
A valid Washington State Competency certificate “Group I – OIT” as a Wastewater Treatment Plant
Operator must be obtained within one (1) year from initial employment.
ABC Board of Examination Maintenance Technician 1 certification within two (2) years of hiring.
Commercial Driver’s License desired but not required at time of hire.
