The Regional Trainer is responsible for implementing and cultivating primarily the Sales training for team members in a designated territory. This key position within the sites is instrumental in ensuring the Mission Rock Residential, LLC (“Mission Rock”) Service Quality Standards are met regarding Sales and communication with prospective residents. In addition, this position will enact technical and program skills training along with occasional transition work. Finally, this position is responsible for executing a training program that focuses on both meeting business objectives and maintaining a best in class customer experience.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal and external resources in regard to planning, developing and delivering training to a designated region of properties.
- Facilitate Sales (“soft skills), Technical, and Program trainings, taking into account local requirements and constraints on the business. Coordinate, deliver, and facilitate trainings based on established training plan.
- Understand and deliver training on the Mission Rock Learning Management Systems and key technical platforms as appropriated that are associated with Sales training.
- Execute a training & coaching strategy to improve the service & sales quality onsite.
- Assist in keeping training needs updated.
- Collaborate on new initiatives in cooperation with Operations and Marketing. Execute, organize, and deliver specific training.
- Support the continuous, direct training for new hires, ensuring operational efficiency through the distribution of tasks, management of daily routines, and handling any escalated scenarios.
- Provide assistance in coaching and training opportunities based on the needs of the business.
- Provide support and assistance to all new hires during a new hire’s first weeks onsite.
- Facilitate new hire on-boarding in regards to Sales training.
- Assist in the identification of opportunities for coaching and development.
- Deliver coaching and feedback to Property Managers, Assistant Property Managers, Leasing • Managers, and Leasing Consultants on Secret Shopper calls.
- Construct and communicate all training documentation, including training agenda, training reports with class attendance and training issues, training recaps, Help Desk tickets, and other training communication. Responsible for maintaining a current digital and hard-copy of all training programs, including visual aids and other materials for in-house training.
- Continuously update and track progress of the deployment of dedicated training in the region in a timely and accurate manner using the designated support tools/systems.
- Provide training solutions to meet functional business requirements.
- Partner with with team members to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
- Select or assist in the development of teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.
- Assist team members with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to Sales and Prospect interaction.
- Maintain a current understanding of related industry and market information through relevant conferences, seminars and networking.
- Maintain a current understanding in all areas of property management. This position will require a well-rounded base of knowledge in order to field questions or provide a resource for team members.
- Constantly evaluate the training programs to ensure team members have a thorough knowledge of the procedures, programs, policies, vendors, as well as a complete understanding of their job responsibilities.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics and ensures that they are communicated and implemented as appropriate for this position.
- Specific Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in delivering professional skills courses. Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate in a way that retains trainee engagement.
- Ability to design and revise training courses.
- Ability to support the development of leadership development courses.
- Ability to ensure training programs are delivered to the company's standards.
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of working independently and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Comfortable with extensive weekly and monthly travel about 40-50% of the week
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Exceptional listening skills, ability to problem solve, and patience with team members of all skill levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and prioritize effectively to ensure successful completion of each training.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
- High energy, enthusiastic, determined, and able to positively motivate.
- Project Management experience for small to medium projects
Education and Work Experience:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED;
- 3 or more years of training experience desired.
- Experience with training best practices, skills assessment methodologies, processes, and training curriculum design desired.
- Proven training skills, classroom, web-based, and individualized.
- 1 – 3 years in a sales or leasing capacity.
- Minimum of 2 years in the property management industry.
- Knowledge of a property management software is desired (Yardi knowledge is preferred but not required).
Working Conditions:
- 2-3 days/week in markets onsite at properties.
- Home Office position.
- Travel (local and overnight) up to 50%. Some travel may require a Sunday departure or a Saturday return.
