Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) seeks a Payroll Coordinator to provide effective management of the payroll functions required for timely payment of all employees, including associated benefits; ensuring compliance of federal and state reporting; and performing special payroll processing activities.
PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts, charter schools and state-approved private schools in Washington. Educational Service Districts, created by the legislature, are an essential regional delivery system for early learning and K-12 services in the state. Minimum Qualifications
• AA/AAS degree in Business, Accounting or related field OR CSBS Certificate (High School/GED and progressively responsible job-related experience, may substitute for AA/AAS degree or CSBS Certificate)
• Experience in specialized field of payroll management in a complex organization or other State governmental or municipal agency
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in WesPac or other large mainframe accounting system
• Beginning-to-End Payroll process experience
• Experience with Word Processing and Complex Spreadsheets
• Department of Retirement Systems knowledge and/or experience; experience with payroll taxes, timesheets and/or vendor invoice reconciliation a plus
This full-time, year ‘round position is based in Renton, WA.
Salary: $50,257 - $58,283 /year, offers consider candidate qualifications, experience and internal equity. Excellent benefits/retirement package, including $820 monthly additional medical insurance allocation, 24 days per year annual leave, 11 paid holidays, participation in Washington State Department of Retirement System and Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan, and the opportunity to work in a friendly and customer-centric environment.
