Salary $71,574 - $138,213
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various engineering services for the District’s Water Utility including design of new or replacement water facilities, project management, plan review, hydraulic analysis and modeling, and coordination of all aspects of project permitting. Coordinates special studies, analyses, reports and recommendations related to facilities life cycle, water system plan updates, regulatory requirements, water quality, system operation, water system acquisition, and disaster response. Performs work alone or as part of a team which may include other engineers, technicians, and consultants. Serves as Project Leader on small to large projects and assignments depending upon qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Engineer
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related field; and
• Two (2) years related engineering experience.
Engineer
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
• Three (3) years engineering experience; and
• Successful completion of Engineer-In-Training Exam (E.I.T.) or branch test of Professional Engineer license.
Professional Engineer
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
• Six (6) years related engineering experience with two (2) of those years as a Lead or Project Engineer; and
• Washington State Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
Principal Engineer
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;
• Nine (9) years of progressive applicable engineering experience, three (3) years of which are in a project engineer/lead engineer capacity in a water utility; and
• Washington State Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in the construction of water capital facilities, hydraulic modeling, and asset management.
