Position Responsibilities
The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences invites applicants for program director of nutrition sciences and dietetics position beginning August 15, 2019. This is a tenure track position and rank is open. Salary commensurate with experience.
The Nutrition Science and Dietetics program at St. Catherine University is committed to the development of effective, ethical leaders. Responsibilities: Teaching load may include, but is not limited to, teaching within the undergraduate nutrition program (includes various majors: nutrition science, nutrition/exercise science, dietetics, etc), advising undergraduate nutrition science, nutrition/exercise science, and dietetics majors, participating in appropriate committees and campus service positions, guiding internship experiences, and conducting scholarship related activities. Program director responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, development and oversight of program policies, budget, and professionalism among students. An inter-professional approach to research, teaching, and education is strongly desired, as is a willingness to engage in innovative curricular and pedagogical strategies such as undergraduate collaborative research.
Position Qualifications
Requirements: Earned doctorate in nutrition or related discipline and scholarship interests that expand the breadth of research already present in the department. Minimum of three years of demonstrated successful teaching at the university level required, five years preferred. Progressive and holistic approach to nutrition preferred. Registered as a dietitian. Evidence of engagement in, and dedication to, conducting and publishing research and presenting at professional meetings also required.
