Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities:
The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences at St. Catherine University invites applications for a tenured track appointment in the Exercise Science program. St. Catherine University is committed to the development of effective, ethical leaders. Through study, practice and life experience, individuals have opportunities to enrich the knowledge, refine the skills and clarify the attitudes essential for responsible action. The Exercise Science program at St. Catherine University is the only CAAHEP accredited exercise science program in the state and the newly appointed faculty member will add their strengths to those that presently exist. The appointment is for a 9-month, tenure track position effective August, 2018, pending budget approval.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the successful candidate may include, but are not limited to, teaching within the undergraduate exercise science program, advising undergraduate exercise and sport science majors and applied exercise science majors, participation in committee and campus service positions, guiding internship experiences, and conducting scholarship-related activities. An inter-professional approach to research, teaching, and education is strongly desired as is a willingness to engage in innovative curricular and pedagogical strategies such as undergraduate collaborative research.
Our department seeks candidates whose teaching, scholarship, and service contribute to the University's commitment to diversity. Preference will be given to those individuals who have experience teaching, conducting scholarship and/or providing service to multicultural, underrepresented, and/or marginalized populations.

Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate degree in a kinesiology-related discipline (e.g., biomechanics, motor control, physical therapy, etc.); scholarship interests that expand the breadth of research already present in the department; university-level teaching experience; evidence of engagement in, and dedication to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings; a strong interest in women's health; ACSM/NSCA/ACE certifications preferred.
