Assistant Supervisor of Home Finding / Recruiting
DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Supervisor of Home finding/Recruitment oversees and manages the day to day operations of the home finding unit in order to recruit, train, and certify full-time and respite foster and adoptive homes needed for the Foster Care Program, the B2H Waiver Program and all agency contract respite programs. This position directly supervises the Home Finders and GPS-MAPP trainers employed by the program, and ensures the maintenance of a minimum numbers of families to retain the integrity of the programs and to allow for expected turnover of foster parents. Must work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to maximize recruiting efforts.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
• Design Foster Home recruitment strategic plan. Including, identifying resources and opportunities for raising awareness and recruiting Foster Families.
• Coordinate all aspects of the recruitment of foster parents including the development of a Recruitment Plan that projects yearly recruitment target numbers, and details recruitment strategies to achieve those targets.
• Write and submit publicity and informative materials, and coordinate media advertising to recruit foster parents
• Actively partake in community outreach and make presentations to community groups and organizations to promote the need for foster and adoptive parents
• In accordance with MEPA guidelines, ensure that the agency recruits and certifies a pool of foster homes that represent the racial and ethnic diversity of the youth in care.
• Follow all federal and NYS-OCFS regulations pertaining to the recruitment, certification and re-certification of foster homes.
• Track all foster parent inquiries and compile data on the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and ensure the timely follow-up with all individuals seeking information on becoming a foster parent
• Conduct a minimum of 4 GPS-MAPP trainings per year.
• Ensure home Re-certifications are current and meet all requirements
• Plan retention and support events for foster families including, support group meetings and recognition events
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly and positively to individuals and groups
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Experience supervising others
- Must be comfortable with public speaking
- Experience in public relations, training, human services, and Foster Care
