The News Tribune is looking for a motivated Sports Clerk with knowledge and an interest in sports and preferably a journalism background.
The ideal candidate is a people person, connects with coaches and players, understands sports and statistics, is organized and can work on a deadline.
Responsibilities include taking (and making) calls from / to high school coaches or team statisticians; compiling box scores and schedules; writing daily online roundups of each night’s events and production of the agate page.
This job is perfect for a college student or any journalist looking to get a foot in the door at one of the largest newspapers in the state of Washington.
The News Tribune covers more than 60 high schools.
Qualified candidates must pass background and drug screen requirements.
