Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
This is a key leadership role reporting to the Partners in all areas of Finance, Compliance and IT. The role requires deep experience in financial management, strong problem solving, and analytical skills. The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of multiple construction-related entities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory environments in our countries of operation, and in line with financial management techniques and practices. As a member of the senior management team, the CFO will be involved in strategic planning and its execution to meet organizational goals and will interact with the Board of Directors. The CFO will also ensure that the company can continue to grow by building strong internal systems that help to create efficiencies in finance at both Headquarters and in our secondary offices while minimizing and managing risk exposure.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with experience in financial management and leadership, ideally gained through corporate settings. Successful candidates will have a proven track record, accounting certification, and experience with the industry.
Finance
- Review & report on monthly financial position to Partners.
- Review & approve monthly cash flow projections for all entities.
- Quarterly, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and Strategic Plan.
- Make recommendations that ensure sound financial management and stability.
Leadership
- Serve as a member of the management team and participate in organizational-wide problem-solving and decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.
- Train and induct staff on organizational policies to ensure standardization in implementation. This includes onboarding new staff and regular (re)training sessions for managers on updated policies, other changes, or general reviews.
- Manage finance team members.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the organization's banks and auditors.
Qualifications and Education
- BA/BS in Accounting/Finance/Business.
- CPA or CFA certificate or an MBA.
- 10 years of progressive experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position with demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge of budgeting, and cost accounting principles
- Strong value for data-driven decision making and demonstrated success in generating & executing thoughtful practical solutions.
- Demonstrated experience directing and implementing new systems, processes to enhance internal operations and organizational effectiveness.
- An ability to lead staff training both in-person and virtually.
