Food & Beverage Director
Thirwood Place, Cape Cod’s premier senior living community, has a rare opening for a skilled and passionate Food and Beverage Director to join our team of service and culinary professionals.
The Food & Beverage Director is involved in all aspects of the dining and serving operations in the independent and assisted living care facilities. We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for interacting with people and a desire to work for a family-owned company.
Job Responsibilities
The Food and Beverage Director’s responsibilities range from management duties to hands-on work on the floor orchestrating and supporting our service team.
The Director is also is expected to become integrated with the senior living community, interacting with residents and their families, and when necessary, acting as a liaison between residents and staff.
Other responsibilities for the Food and Beverage Director will include:
- Managing a team of food and beverage service professionals who serve quality meals for residents
- Ensuring compliance with state, federal and local regulations as well as Thirwood Place S&P’s
- Reporting all accidents and incidents to the General Manager
- Assuring that planned menus are followed in accordance with established dietary guidelines.
- Assuring cleanliness of all work areas
- Inspecting dining rooms, utility janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep, supply, and infection control
- Immediately addressing resident concerns or problems with service
- Managing department budgets and maintaining adequate financial records and cost reports
- Conducting quarterly food advisory board meetings with residents and keep minutes
- Weekend work is a must
Job Requirements
The Food and Beverage Director must incorporate the hospitality model into our dining areas and join with the rest of their team in being a part of the Thirwood Place community.
With 3 meals served daily, the dining area is an important part of the Thirwood Place lifestyle, requiring all team members to have a passion for interacting with the residents.
Must have knowledge of dietary procedures, as well as related health department regulations and guidelines pertaining to food service operations
Must have strong experience leading a food and beverage service staff in a hospitality dining environment and possess excellent leadership and people skills with the ability to communicate well.
