Community Center Services Coordinator
Wages: $21.88 - $25.59 per hour (2019)
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m./Monday – Friday (one hour lunch)

Position Description: This position is responsible for Town facility use coordination, contract preparation/interpretation, program registration, volunteer/staff scheduling/training, maintaining financial records, community center safety programs, maintaining the Town’s employee wellness program, administering programs for adults/seniors to include developing program curriculum, scheduling, and promoting programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. AA Degree. High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Three years clerical experience may substitute for AA Degree
2. Two years clerical experience with proficiency in various computer applications (Word/Excel)
3. Have access to a vehicle for travel between locations / Maintain insurance
4. Washington State Drivers’ License / Good driving record Prefer: CDL
5. CPR & Basic First Aid Certification (able to obtain within agreed/specified period)
6. WA State Food Handlers’ Card (able to obtain within an agreed/specified period)
Preferred:
One year supervisory experience
Experience with the Clover POS system software (receipting)
Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to maneuver in an office environment. Must be able to give/receive clear oral/written information/instruction. The position requires periods of prolonged visual
exposure to a computer monitor and computer input. The incumbent must have the ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds; push portable wall units; setup/take-down tables and chairs. The employee must be able to drive a Town van, travel to activities offsite, and assist program participants when they are physically
challenged.
Terms of Employment: This is full time position eligible for benefits. The position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Recreation Aides -- Before/After School Program (September – June)
Before School Aide: Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
After School Aide: Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
(Additional hours may be available on Steilacoom Historical School District half-days and days closed.)
Wage: $13.42 Hr. (2019)

Program Start Date – 8/29/19
Position Description: Supervise, monitor, evaluate, and assess program participants. Direct and participate in program activities to include: arts and crafts, sports, games, drama, and music.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school graduation/GED equivalent.
2. One year experience working with preschool/elementary age children in a structured program.
3. CPR and Basic First Aid Certification (able to obtain within an agreed/specified period).
4. Washington State Food Workers’ Card (able to obtain within an agreed/specified period).
Prefer:
Experience working with children in a preschool, before/after school program, or recreation program.
Experience with the Clover POS system software (receipting).
Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, running, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and moving/lifting up to 30 pounds. Occasionally transport/set-up equipment tables/chairs. Frequent interaction with
children in physical exercise, sports, and games. The incumbent must be able to traverse uneven terrain as activities are frequently conducted in an outdoor environment.
