POSITION TITLE:
Head Excess & Surplus Sales
POSITION DUTIES:
Lead the sales, business development, and distribution strategy across the Excess & Surplus line of business and enable sustainable growth. Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive sales and distribution strategy. Focus on both broker and client engagement. Identify new business opportunities, build sales pipeline, generate new business leads, develop existing client relationships through cross- and up-selling, and lead opportunities from submission through to binding. Focus on senior management teams of broking houses mainly Senior Management, Client Executive and Production side of the brokerage, as well as clients directly such as risk managers, treasurers, and CFO's. Work closely with the Head Excess & Surplus (E&S), as well as with underwriting teams for the region. Represent full range of Corporate Solutions products and solutions within E&S (Property, Casualty, FinPro, etc.). Assist in the development of a compelling value proposition across multiple lines of business. Establish relationships with client representatives and senior management teams and develop joint business targets. Lead internal “deal teams” with all relevant stakeholders. Manage the marketing activities and E&S events. Represent Corporate Solutions at regional insurance industry and broker.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in International Economics and Management, Business Administration with a concentration in Economics or related field.
Employer will accept 3 or 4 year degree.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
4 years of experience in the position offered or related occupation.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
At least 3 years of the 4 years of experience in the position offered or related occupation must include the following skills: Sales, Business Development, Relationship Management and Distribution in the commercial insurance industry; developing and executing multi-faceted sales plans across lines of business, industry and client segments; using data analytics, market data and broker portfolio specific data to derive marketing plans and drive growth strategies; working with key stakeholders including brokers, corporate risk managers, insurance professionals; sales and new business origination; dealing with complex insurance transactions; Salesforce.com CRM systems; working with teams in multiple locations and business units, across organizational boundaries; internal and external stakeholder management in a matrix environment; and Excess & Surplus (E&S) segment including key competitors, distribution channels, market trends and dynamics; Managing 5 or more broker service level agreements with large and diverse brokers in the US market as well as globally such as Aon, Marsh, Willis and Lockton. Reporting and tracking the service delivery, managing compliance and legal aspects of agreements.
